Developers

Usage-based

For apps that let people add a server by typing a code.

  • People type eight characters, not an address
  • Nothing to retype when a server moves
  • Access granted case by case
  • Priced on how many calls your app makes
  • Details shared once access is agreed

Prices are per year, and nothing renews by itself. A code keeps working for as long as you renew it; left to lapse, it stops resolving exactly as though it had been switched off. Changing where a code points is free, whenever you like, on any kind of code.

How they combine

Single codes and groups

A single code works alongside your other single codes: someone can add two of them in the same app and see both servers together.

A group is five codes meant to be used as one set. They work with each other and not with anything else, so a customer holding one of your group codes can add the rest of the group but cannot mix in a code from elsewhere.

Apps enforce this and explain it to the person, so nobody is left wondering why a code was refused.
