Report misuse

If a code is pointing somewhere it should not, tell us. This page says where to send a report, what we can and cannot do about it, and how quickly we will come back to you.
You do not need a lawyer to write to us and you do not need any particular form of words.
Reports go to abuse@linkacode.com and reach a person, not a ticketing queue. Acknowledged within two business days.
What we can act on
We can disable a code immediately, which stops it resolving for everyone using it, and we can suspend or close the seller account behind it. We do that on a credible report rather than only on a court order. Where a seller has done it before, the closure is permanent.
Because a code is repointable by design, disabling it is fast and total — there is no cached copy of the destination anywhere for it to fall back to.
What we cannot act on, and why
A code stands for a server address — a host and an optional port, never a path and never a URL. We do not host, supply, proxy, cache or inspect anything at that address, and destinations are encrypted at rest, so a database dump would not reveal them either.
So if the material you want removed is on the server a code points at, we cannot remove it: it is not ours and we have no access to it. Saying otherwise would waste your time. What we can do is stop the code resolving, which is usually the fastest thing available to anyone.
What to put in a report
- The code itself, if you have it. That is the single most useful thing.
- What the problem is. For copyright, identify the work and your rights in it.
- Anything else that helps us find it — a seller name, a date and time, a screenshot.
- How to reach you, and whether you are acting for someone else.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and that what you have told us is accurate.
If you cannot supply all of that, send what you have. A partial report is better than none and we will ask for the rest.
What happens next
Every report is acknowledged within two business days by someone who has read it. Where a report is clear and within our power to act on, we act at the same time rather than waiting. Where it is not, we say what we need and why. Where we cannot help, we say so, and say who can.
We keep a record of reports and what was done about them. It is how repeat offenders get found.
If you think we got it wrong
If we disabled a code of yours and you believe the report was mistaken, write to the same address and say so. A person will look at it again. We would rather reverse our own decision than defend it.
